INTRODUCTION

Learning Watercolour painting with Mr.Tan Chin Seng,

Mr. Tan introduces himself and the watercolour course:

"I am Tan Chin Seng, born in 1964. I graduated from the Malaysian Institute of Art in 1990. I had since worked as an illustrator anjd designer while continued to pursue in fine art. For the past 20 years i have spent most of my time painting and teaching art.

I believe Visual Art is expression of life, just like other forms of expression and communication such as language and dance. Whoever interested can acquire the basic knowledge and techniques to enjoy art activities.

The short art course I have designed as follows serves to help those who wish to start or restart painting by equipping them with good understanding and basic techniques of painting."

One-month short course (4 weekly, 1-hour sessions)

1. Understanding colours and colour mixing techniques.

2. Basic shapes and forms. Colour value and intensity.

3. Nature study. Application of understanding and techniques.

4. Landscaoe painting. Creating illusion of space.
